Volunteer Mentors Supporting Youth Development

Volunteer Mentors Supporting Youth Development
Volunteer professional mentors continue to play a key role in the professional journeys of young people in Kosovo. Through their active engagement, they contribute to strengthening skills, capacities, and confidence among youth.

Mrika Karaqi, who holds a double Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree in Law and Real Estate Management, shared her experience as a mentor in the Virtual Workshop “Podium Advocacy for Change”:

“Taking on the role of a volunteer professional mentor for the first time was an extraordinary experience. Having the opportunity to support and empower young people in developing creative advocacy ideas was truly meaningful. Through my experience and knowledge, I aimed to contribute to their preparation for the labor market and to the development of their professional skills through the innovative methods offered by the workshop.”

She also emphasized the positive impact of involving mentors from public institutions, the private sector, and civil society, who are significantly contributing to strengthening the capacities of young people.

The engagement of volunteer mentors remains a key pillar of the “Kosovo Generation Unlimited” project, implemented by Rrjeti CSR Kosova and supported by Unicef Kosovo Programme, with additional support from the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA).
