Meet Our Member – KOSTT J.S.C.
KOSTT J.S.C. is the Kosovo Electricity Transmission System and Market Operator, a public company with 100% state ownership. The company operates based on two licenses issued by the Energy Regulatory Office for the operation of the transmission system and the electricity market in Kosovo.
KOSTT manages the Transmission System of the Republic of Kosovo at voltage levels of 400 kV, 220 kV, and 110 kV, including transformers connected to the distribution network. Due to Kosovo’s central geographical position, the transmission system operated by KOSTT represents an important link in the electricity transmission network of South East Europe. The system connects Kosovo to neighboring countries through seven cross-border interconnection lines and includes 1324 km of high-voltage transmission lines. In parallel, KOSTT has developed an optical fiber OPGW network with a length of over 1100 km.
Looking ahead, KOSTT’s mission is to provide high-quality services through technological advancement, ensure transparency and non-discrimination in the competitive electricity market, and strengthen its position at the international level. Planned activities include day-ahead system planning, annual electricity balance planning, and real-time intra-day system management.
In the field of Corporate Social Responsibility, KOSTT has implemented significant community support projects, particularly in municipalities along the route of the 400 kV Kosovo–Albania interconnection line. Support has included investments in school infrastructure, sanitation improvements, sports facilities, public lighting, water supply systems, and local road infrastructure across several municipalities including Obiliq, Vushtrri, Drenas, Malishevë, Rahovec, Gjakova, Deçan, and Junik.
KOSTT has also supported local products and artists, promoting local development and maintaining communication with stakeholders through various initiatives.
As a member of Kosovo CSR Network since its establishment in 2011, KOSTT has integrated responsible business policies into its internal governance and operational practices. The Network has played an important role in strengthening corporate awareness and encouraging companies to increase their engagement in CSR practices for the benefit of society.
