Greenterprise – Promoting Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency in Businesses
Greenterprise is an initiative that promotes the integration of Renewable Energy Sources (RES) and Energy Efficiency (EE) in Kosovo businesses, highlighting the business opportunities that this growing sector offers.
The initiative will be implemented in three main steps:
1. Capacity Building
A two-day training workshop will be organized for the business community, focusing on current trends and practical possibilities for implementing renewable energy and energy efficiency solutions.
2. Raising Awareness
Public awareness activities will be carried out to promote proper energy management, renewable energy integration, and energy efficiency projects. Follow updates through social media channels for information about market trends and training opportunities.
3. Connecting Stakeholders
The project aims to create a network among businesses, public authorities, and civil society organizations interested in alternative energy. A dedicated networking event will be organized to connect professionals and companies operating in this sector.
The global energy landscape is rapidly changing. Technological advancements now enable consumers and businesses to produce their own energy and actively manage consumption through Distributed Generation models. Large corporations such as Google have already reached 100% renewable energy sourcing through direct investments in wind and solar projects. However, this transition is not limited to global corporations. Small and medium enterprises can also benefit from integrating RES and EE solutions into their operations.
Businesses integrate Renewable Energy Sources and Energy Efficiency for several reasons:
• Increasing self-generation of electrical and thermal energy
• Reducing operational costs through energy-saving measures
• Mitigating risks related to power outages
• Reducing exposure to energy price volatility
• Strengthening overall business sustainability
Training Details:
Greenterprise training will be held on 19–20 June 2019, from 09:30 to 16:00, near the Innovation Centre Kosovo (ICK) offices in Prishtina.
Applications will be assessed based on:
(a) Answers provided in the application form
(b) The type of business activity represented
Priority will be given to manufacturing businesses.
The deadline for application is 31 May 2019.
