Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Breast Cancer Awareness Month, observed every October around the world, aims to increase attention and support for awareness, early detection, treatment and palliative care related to breast cancer.

According to global estimates, approximately 1.38 million new cases of breast cancer are diagnosed each year, with around 458,000 deaths annually. Breast cancer remains the most common cancer among women worldwide, affecting both developed and developing countries. In low- and middle-income countries, incidence rates have steadily increased in recent years due to longer life expectancy, urbanization and lifestyle changes.

Early detection through screening and timely treatment significantly improves survival rates and quality of life. Raising public awareness remains essential in encouraging regular check-ups and reducing stigma surrounding the disease.

Members of Kosovo CSR Network actively contribute to Breast Cancer Awareness Month through various initiatives. Rugove Corporation has supported the “Pink Pong” event organized by FPPK, aimed at raising awareness and promoting early screening through sport.

Through table tennis activities, FPPK seeks to encourage citizens to prioritize preventive examinations and to motivate communities to stand together in the fight against breast cancer.

Kosovo CSR Network supports initiatives that promote health, awareness and social responsibility, reinforcing the role of the private sector in contributing to public wellbeing.
